• The progress of a research student is monitored and assessed by the supervisor at the end of each semester.
• Final assessment is made through the thesis prepared by the student and an oral examination.
• A student who has satiesfied the Examination Committe in all aspects of their work is eligible for the award of the Doctoral degree (PhD).

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

ACADEMIC

1. A Master's degree (Level 7, MQF) in the field of Computing or related fields  as accepted by UTHM Senate;  OR
2. A Master's degree(Level 7, MQF), not in the field of Computing with a minimum working experience of FIVE (5) years in Computing field or related field, must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by UTHM, OR
3. A Master's degree (Level 7, MQF) , not in the field of Computing  with  working experience less than FIVE(5) years in Computing or related field, can be accepted subject to a rigorous internal assessment and must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by UTHM, equivalent to candidate's working experience in the field of Computing and related field,   OR
4. Other qualification  equivalent to  a Master's degree (Level 7, MQF) ,  in  Computing or related field, recognized by Malaysian Goverment equivalent to the above mentioned requirements, AND
5. Must achieved 6.0 score in IELTS or equivalent, or 4.0 score in MUET or 60 score in TOEFL iBT or 8.5 score in TOEFL Essentials. 
6. Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL). Applicant must be a Malaysian Citizen with minimum age of 35 years old.
